The Sankofa Project Title IX Conference and Classic presented by Events DC

Over 1,200 girls from 15 states and Canada will travel to the District for an eight-bracket, three-day tournament that introduces female students to rewarding career paths in the fields of science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM).  The Sankofa Project National Title IX Conference and Classic presented by Events DC will be held at the DC Armory from December 27-30.

In 1972, Title IX legislation was passed that changed the face of sports. Before that time, only 7% of high school athletes and 15% of college athletes were female. Title IX demanded equal access to sports for both males and females. We are honored to help the Sankofa Project fulfill its objective of inspiring female athletes and STEAM scholars.
